Seemingly minor cosmetic flaws can actually have a large impact on the appearance of your smile. Chips, cracks, gaps between teeth, slight malocclusion, misshapen teeth, and discoloration can all detract from an otherwise healthy and beautiful smile. There are a number of treatment options that can be utilized to correct these flaws, but one of the most popular – and effective – is porcelain veneers.
At our Clarksville dental practice, we work with a state-of-the-art dental laboratory to design and fabricate beautiful veneers for our patients. These prosthetics – wafer-thin shells that are bonded to the outer surfaces of the front teeth – can mask cosmetic imperfections and restore your smile’s youthful luster. If you are interested in learning more about porcelain veneers, we encourage you to contact Clarksville Smiles today.
Placing Porcelain Veneers
We take a conservative approach to porcelain veneers at our Clarksville dental practice. The quality of a veneer is extremely important, as is the quality of the actual placement; by approaching the design, fabrication, and placement of porcelain veneers with due diligence, we can ensure better results for our patients. Veneers should look like your natural teeth and blend in with your smile seamlessly while providing years of benefits, and this can only be achieved through careful attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. With decades of experience in the field of dental veneers and the resources of a state-of-the-art dental lab at his disposal, you can rest assured that Dr. Richard Ribeiro can satisfy your needs and wishes.
To begin the procedure, the teeth will be thoroughly examined and cleaned. Once you and Dr. Ribeiro have a shared understanding of both your goals and how the procedure will proceed, the treatment process will begin. To provide space for the porcelain veneers to and to ensure a suitable bonding surface, the top layer of enamel will be removed from the affected teeth. This process is conducting using local anesthesia, and if necessary, sedation dentistry. Once the teeth have been prepared accordingly, a physical mold will be taken of the teeth. From this mold, your dental veneers will be designed and fabricated. In the interim, temporary veneers will be secured to your teeth to act as placeholders.
Once your permanent porcelain veneers have been crafted, you will return to our Clarksville dental practice for your second appointment. At this time, your temporary veneers will be removed and replaced with your permanent veneers. Fit and finish will be checked for accuracy and your veneers will be positioned in place. The prosthetics will be bonded to the surfaces of the affected teeth with dental cement, and will settle in mere minutes. Excess cement will be removed, the veneers will be cleaned, and you’ll leave our office with a beautiful, uniform, natural, and healthy-looking smile.
